I was especially pissed when upon driving back I saw the spanish names of towns, streets and what-have-you slowly turn into native american ones.

you are on INDIAN land and the only reminders left from the genocide of the native american peoples are the names of the towns and streets in the northwest. out of all the things that you chose to represent your hatred of the northwest you, white racist girl, chose the INDIAN names. not the buildings, or the businesses, not the white folks, but the INDIAN names of the streets and towns.

Not to be pointing out the obvious Mr./Ms.Anonymous but the point of her post was not the hatred of the Native American names, but the hatred of having to go back home (which is coincidentally around Native American names)... if she was living elsewhere the hatred of native american names would have been replaced with hatred of some other form of names, it was purely circumstantial and symbolic...

She isn't racist so much as you are stupid, or apparently only able to read things on a superficial level...ie "Oh she says she hates going back towards the native American names that must mean she hates indians"... lordy, are you in 3rd grade? Can you not understand subtext... I bet you take everything as some sort of political/racial/gender affront? (and you apparently lack proper grammatical skills judging from your misuse of the whole your, you're thing...must you molest the english language?)

Honestly who could hate the names Humptulip or Tillicum, or Puyallup unless it was purely on a symbolic level...
